Exploration Geophysics

Oil geophysics is the application of noval geophysical theory and technique with artificial controlled sources to oil and gas exploration and development. The main objectives include the theory and detection of seismic waves propagating within complex subsurface medium, the geophysical forward and inversion problems for oil and gas reservoir, and the joint inversion of seismic exploration and geophysical well log. The advance of oil geophysics shows the interaction and the mixture between physics, applied mathematics, information science, computer science, artificial intelligence, and geoscience.
